1.      Union Governmenton July 1, 2016 revealed its ambitious regional connectivity scheme under whichairfares will be capped at Rs. 2,500 for up to one-hour flights on unserved andunder-served routes.

2.      The scheme,mooted in the National civil aviation policy-2016 to connect smaller cities,has been put up for stakeholder’s consultations, including sate government,airlines and airport operators. The stakeholder’s have been given three weeksto submit their comments on the draft scheme, which would be finalised beAugust 2016.
